Meet Libby, Our New Motorhome

I’ve been promising you a tour of our new motorhome for about a month now, so here it is. We were finally able to get everything sorted and situated enough to show you our new home. We are so grateful for how God has worked in this situation and are truly loving our new normal. Anyway, we hope you enjoy the tour. (BTW, I apologize for sounding out of breath in the video. While the weather has been beautiful in our area, the pollen has been immense and has wreaked havoc on my allergies.)

Are We There Yet?

Are We There Yet?

Have you ever begun a project and wondered if you would ever see the completion? This house renovation has given me a new appreciation for the children of Israel and their ability to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem in a mere 52 days. They had no power tools or home improvement stores, yet through God’s great and mighty power, they accomplished the task in record time, and all the while, the enemy was hard at work to stop them.

Yes, with each passing day of home improvement, I marvel at the miraculous nature of the feat Israel accomplished under the supervision of Nehemiah. At the same time, I find myself rejoicing that I serve the same God, and He is no respecter of persons. Just as He strengthened the Israelites and equipped them with skill, so will He do for us. In fact, He already has. In a mere two months, we’ve accomplished far more than I thought we could. Yes, my friends, God is good and faithful.

Where To Begin?

Where To Begin?

It has been a crazy busy week for this missionary couple. As I told you last week, on Monday, we picked up the Downeys from the airport. On Tuesday, we spent the day dealing with and exploring a decision I’ll tell you about in just a minute. Wednesday was “catch up” day as Jason got on the phone, and I got on the computer to try and get done as much ministry-related work as possible. On Thursday, we went to my sister’s house in the early afternoon for a 4th of July celebration, then hurried over to our church, where we hosted another 4th of July party for the Downeys and their family. By the time we got home late Thursday night, we had one frazzled pup who required us to stay up for another hour or so to comfort him. By Friday, I needed a day of recovery and a trip to the chiropractor (I wish I was joking). It was an insanely busy but exciting week!

What a Ride!

What a Ride!

More often than not, deputation feels like a roller coaster. It’s fun, exciting, and scary all at the same time. Combine that with the ups and downs of everyday life, and well, let’s just say it makes for an interesting ride. Let’s start with the “ups” of the past couple of weeks.

During the week of the 19th, we were at a Missions Conference in Dickson, TN, with the precious people of Hillview Baptist Church. I can honestly say it was one of the most pleasant meetings we’ve been at since beginning deputation. They took such great care of us and welcomed us like we were family. We had such a joyous time worshiping with them and getting to know them better. The preaching each night was phenomenal, and we were convicted by the messages we heard. And as strange as it sounds, some nights we laughed so hard it hurt. By the time we left, we felt energized and renewed, both physically and spiritually. As an added blessing, the church decided to take us on for monthly support. What a thrill! All in all, it was a remarkable week.

Time to Catch Up

Time to Catch Up

You’ve probably noticed it’s been a while since our last update, and for that, I apologize. Between traveling, working, and dealing with some health issues, life has been more than hectic. But, I guess that’s the life of a missionary on deputation, right?

In all seriousness, over the past month, we’ve been in several meetings and revivals across the upstate of South Carolina and had the opportunity to meet some precious new friends in Christ. Even though most of our meetings have been drop-ins, the Lord has blessed us financially and given us the opportunity to share our burden nearly everywhere we’ve been. It’s been exciting to watch God move!
