Which Dwarf Am I Today?
/Over the past few weeks, I’ve (Dana) been juggling my dwarf identities. Some days, I’m Happy—like the days we spent in a missions conference in Maryville, TN with some of the sweetest people I’ve ever met and our current trip to Elizabeth City, NC to reunite with some friends and make new ones. Other days, I’m Sleepy—also like the time spent in missions conference when we stayed up into the wee hours of the morning, laughing and talking with fellow believers. In recent days, I’ve been Sneezy, thanks to seasonal allergies and those stinky Bradford Pear trees. And unfortunately, most days I’m Dopey, unable to remember where I am, what day it is, and what I’m supposed to be doing at any given time. As for Grumpy, well, he’s certainly reared his head a few times, I’m ashamed to say.
But overall, I've been Grateful. No, that isn’t a dwarf’s name, but maybe it should be. He would certainly be a good addition to the gang. I’m grateful for traveling mercies as we’ve crisscrossed our paths from one meeting to the next. I’m grateful for God’s provision in so many areas of our lives. I’m grateful for the many new friends we’ve made and for the churches who have partnered with us both in prayer and in financial support. And I’m grateful that everything is on track for our house closing one week from tomorrow. Yes, just one more week, Lord willing!
It’s been an exciting few weeks, and we’ve seen God move some mighty big mountains. Our support has grown and is now over 35% percent. Some say that’s wonderful while others comment we should be at least halfway to our goal by now. We say it’s all in God’s timing. While we would love to get to Wales sooner rather than later, we know God is using our deputation journey to mold us and make us into vessels He can use for His honor and glory. So, despite the naysayers, we choose not to be discouraged and to trust that God will get us to Wales when He’s ready for us to be there.
This week we begin another missions conference, and thankfully, this one is close to home. Next week, we’ll be busy with a few appointments and—hopefully—the closing on the house and the purchase of our new motorhome. I’ll keep you updated on our progress. In the meantime, please know that we love you all and greatly appreciate your thoughts, prayers, support, and encouragement. Y’all are such a blessing!
