Read MoreI read an article this morning that convicted me so much that I feel the need to share it with you. Though Jason and I are just beginning our missionary journey and haven’t even begun our work on the field, we can already relate to a few of the points the writer states in the following article. We’ve also had the opportunity to hang around enough missionaries in the past few months to know that what is said here is true. Very sad, but true. I share this today as a reminder to pray for and reach out to missionaries across the world. We’re people too, and we need your love, prayers, and encouragement.
Read MoreAs you can see from our updates (or lack thereof), December was a slow month as far as our mission efforts are concerned. With the Christmas season in full swing, it’s difficult to book meetings for the month and even to get ahold of pastors. It’s also a bit daunting to do drop-ins during December because many churches alter service times because of special programs. Still, we enjoyed spending the month with our church family and being a part of the yearly Christmas play. The real blessing is that God honored our previous mission efforts as two churches and one couple contacted us with the news they were planning to take us on for support beginning in January. Praise the Lord!

With no other meetings scheduled for the remainder of the year, we’ve been dropping in on some local churches. This gives us the opportunity to introduce ourselves, meet the pastor and congregation, and hopefully book a meeting for a time in the future. So far, so good.
Read MoreOn Saturday, November 3rd, we set out—once again—for an eight-hour drive, this time to Green Valley Baptist Church in Middletown, Virginia. Though we were dreading another long journey in the car, the Lord blessed our travels with beautiful mountain views and bright fall foliage. I don’t remember ever enjoying a car ride as much as we did that day, and we arrived at our hotel room (purchased by Green Valley Baptist Church) in good spirits.
