Missions Conference at Tabernacle

Above is the video from the last day of the missions conference with Tabernacle Baptist Church. I encourage you to watch the entire video, but if you’re pressed for time, fast-forward to around the 30-minute mark, and you’ll see Jason presenting our ministry for the very first time. Though there were quite a few “uhs” and “ums,” he did an awesome job sharing his heart and our burden for Wales, especially with this being the first time and quite a large crowd. We are thankful again to Tabernacle for allowing us to be a part of the conference and giving us the chance to present our ministry. What a blessing it was to us!

First Meeting

First Meeting

We never cease to be amazed at how God works. After going through missions orientation, we spent the next couple of weeks getting all our materials in order so we could be ready to start calling pastors and setting up meetings. It’s amazing how long it takes to get together prayer cards, information packets, a website, a video presentation, and so much more.

Before making the first call, Tabernacle Baptist Church, the church where Dana grew up and from which we both graduated, invited us to take part in their annual mission conference. Not only are they providing meals for us the entire week, but they are also giving us the opportunity to present our ministry to the congregation. What a blessing to begin this intimidating new journey in the comfort of “home.”

And We're Off!!!

And We're Off!!!

On Thursday and Friday of last week, we attended the two-day mini orientation with our mission board.  They poured a fountain of information into us to give us the knowledge and tools we would need to begin our missionary journey in earnest.  With that training complete, we are now cleared to start making phone calls and booking meetings.

Currently, we are scheduled to attend a local mission conference at the end of next week and another conference in Tennesse toward the end of October.  We hope to be able to book many more meetings in the following weeks as it is our hope to go on full-time deputation by the beginning of next year.  To accomplish that would take a miracle, but thankfully, we know Someone who excels at doing the impossible, and we know if it is His will, it will happen.

Watching God Provide

Watching God Provide

With deputation ahead of us, we needed some new clothes, particularly Jason.  Being one to prefer casual clothes like jeans and pullovers, he was desperately in need of some suits and dress slacks.  Of course, suits aren't cheap, so we decided to begin our shopping at the local thrift store.  (Who doesn't love thrift stores, right?)

When we arrived and started perusing, we were delighted to see they had many suits to choose from and the price for two-piece suits was $15.  Not bad!  Our next task was to see if the store had any suits in Jason's size.  At 6'2," he's not the easiest person to fit, but lo and behold, there was a handful to choose from, plus a couple of suit coats.

After trying on the selection of clothing, Jason found two suits, one suit coat, and two pairs of slacks that fit like a dream.  We were thrilled, but God hadn't finished pouring out the blessings yet.

It's Official

It's Official

Macedonia World Baptist Missions contacted us this morning and let us know we have been accepted to join their team.  So, it's official--we're missionaries.  We have a call, a destination, and a board.  Now, all we need is support.  We hope and pray it won't take us long to raise the funds necessary to begin our service in Wales, but it's all in God's hands and His timing.

We are scheduled to attend a two-day orientation with the mission board in a couple of weeks.  After that, from what we understand, we're free to begin deputation.  That means we'll be looking for churches who are willing to have us come in and present our ministry.  If you're interested in helping us, please contact us at 2wales4christ@gmail.com.
