Another Church Takes Us On for Support

I’m a bit late writing this update, but it’s been a crazy week thus far. On Sunday, we were privileged to spend the entire day with the wonderful people of Fairview Baptist Church. Jason taught Sunday School and presented our burden in the morning service. I also sang. At the end of the service, there was a baptism service for three precious young people. What a joy to witness these little ones stepping forward in faith and dedicating their lives to the Lord.

After the morning service, we enjoyed a good time of food and fellowship with the pastor and his family. It was a joyous time! That evening, Jason preached, and then, we received an additional blessing. The pastor called for a motion for the church to take us on for monthly support. There were many motions, and the vote was unanimous. This has only happened a few times so far in our deputation, and each time, it blesses our hearts beyond measure.

After the evening service, we stood in the church parking lot and chatted with the pastor and his wife for well over an hour. Though we were all hot and sweaty, the fellowship was so sweet, we just couldn’t seem to part ways. All the way home, Jason and I praised the Lord for His goodness and for precious churches like this who are doing all they can to send missionaries across the globe. We also thanked Him for the new friendships we formed and the opportunity to be a part of His work.

Monday was a very special day. We drove to the Atlanta airport to pick up the Downeys who flew in for their two-month deputation. For those of you who may not know or remember, Ronnie and Tennille Downey are the long-time missionaries in Wales with whom we intend to work with once we raise our support. They have a wonderful work started in mid-Wales, and we’re looking forward to serving with them. For now, we are excited to have them in the states, and we have a lot of plans to spend time together over the next couple of months.

I have some other exciting news I want to share with you, but I’m afraid I’m not at liberty to spill the beans just yet. I will tell you this much—the Lord has been working in our hearts and lives, and we’re seeing some of our prayers being answered, including the one about Jason’s job situation. Yes, as of last Friday, we are now on FULL-TIME deputation. Praise the Lord! Thank you for your prayers in this matter. God has heard and answered. There are still a few major decisions we’re working through, so your continued prayers for these needs is greatly appreciated.

We love you all and are so thankful to have friends and family who are behind us in faithful support and prayers. Your involvement in our lives serves as a constant reminder that we are not in this alone. For that, we cannot thank you enough. God bless you!
