More Drop-ins

There’s really not much to report this week. Jason’s workload has picked up again, so he’s not had much opportunity to be on the phone and book meetings. That being said, it’s good that he’s working enough hours to get a decent paycheck. We’re still trying to find that balance of working and doing deputation, and God is certainly helping in that area.

We were excited to attend the Valentine’s Banquet hosted by our home church, Bible Baptist in Pickens, SC. It was such a joy to catch up with our church family and to help our youth raise funds for their upcoming mission trip. The evening was a lot of fun, and I honestly can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard. Many thanks to the youth and youth workers for putting on such a wonderful and successful banquet.

On Sunday morning, we dropped in on the sweet people of Old Fashioned Baptist Church in Travelers Rest, SC. As we have been in most churches, we were made to feel loved and welcomed. We had a good time of worship both in Sunday School and in the morning hour, and the pastor allowed Jason to have a few minutes in both services to tell about our mission goals.

Sunday evening, we visited Freedom Baptist Church right down the road from us here in Greenville, SC. I was amazed at how many people we knew. It was such a joy to be reunited with friends from long ago as well as to make new acquaintances. Everyone was very kind, and the church even took up a generous love offering for us even though our visit was unscheduled. We were grateful for such a warm welcome and for another opportunity to present our burden.

There’s not much else to say except “God’s been good!”
