When God Is On Your Side. . .

Before I tell you about our meetings this week, I’d like to share with you how God has, once again, proven Himself faithful. Since the beginning of the year, one or both of our vehicles have been in the shop for much-needed repairs. We’ve replaced tires, a water pump, hoses, belts, a distributor (twice), and much more. Hundreds of dollars have been spent over the past few months in car repairs, and to be honest, it was getting discouraging.

While speaking with my mom about the issue, I commented that I didn’t know what was going on. She replied, “I know exactly what’s going on. You need your vehicle to travel to these meetings and raise your support to get to Wales. Who do you think doesn’t want you to do that?” She was right, and I knew it. In fact, I had known it all along. Satan was fighting, but fortunately, God was too. This week, we received a check for a generous amount of money from someone who wanted to be a blessing and share a blessing she had received from the Lord. This amount covered the cost of a lot of the repairs, but more than that, it served as a reminder that God is on our side. We are doing His will, and He is working on our behalf. Sometimes it seems like Satan is winning, but this week, we were reminded that God will always have the victory and will always provide for His children. Amen and hallelujah!

I won’t go into great detail about our travels this weekend, but I will tell you it was a LONG day on Sunday. We left the house around 7:00 that morning and didn’t arrive home again until 12:30 that night (or the next morning, depending on how you look at it.) We were with the congregation of People’s Baptist Church in Tucker, GA for Sunday School and the morning service. We had the privilege of being there with a couple of representatives of our mission board, Macedonia World Baptist Missions. It was a delightful time of fellowship and worship, and we were so appreciative of all that was done for us.

After dinner on the grounds, Jason and I hopped into the car and drove another two hours to our second destination, Faith Baptist Church in Ringgold, GA. Once again, we enjoyed the fellowship of sweet people and those who were receptive to our call and mission. Jason presented our ministry and preached a wonderful message about the attributes of God. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the opportunity to meet the pastor and his wife because the pastor was quite sick and unable to make it for the evening service. Nevertheless, we had a great time and enjoyed every part of the service.

I will tell you this funny little anecdote. Before the evening service, one of the ladies invited me to join the ladies in the prayer room. After several requests were made, we all bowed our heads and began to pray. After I had finished my prayer, I glanced up and noticed everyone else still had their heads bowed and some were still moving their lips, so in reverence, I bowed my head and closed my eyes, waiting for someone to say “Amen” or something. After a little while, I began to hear the sounds of people shifting around, and I wondered if the ladies were leaving the room as they finished. Once again, I peeked up from my praying position and found everyone’s eyes on me. Evidently, they were waiting for me to finish praying while all along, I was waiting on them. It was quite embarrassing, and I have no idea how many shades of red I became. No doubt, these ladies either think I’m really spiritual or that I’m one of those who tries to prove how spiritual she is by praying the longest. I’m neither. I’m just a poor little redhead that didn’t understand the rules of the prayer room. Oh well! At least it makes for an interesting story to tell!

One other note, we received word yesterday that another church has decided to take us on for support, and a few others have indicated they will probably be supporting us after all the proper procedures are made. Little by little, we’re getting there. Praise the Lord!

Tonight, we’ll be in Bessie Road Baptist Church in Piedmont, SC, so we appreciate your prayers that the meeting will go well and that we’ll be a blessing to those in attendance.

Thank you again for your many prayers and your faithful support of our ministry!
