Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

Since our last update, we've been on the road, attending meetings all over the place. We began with a last-minute meeting on Friday, June 25th, in Dacula, GA. We had a great time, and the church voted that night to take us on for support, which was a massive encouragement!

The following Sunday, we had a morning meeting in Chesnee, SC, and an evening meeting in Kings Mountain, NC. Both of these meetings were wonderful as well. From there, we made another last-minute decision to head further north to attend a week-long jubilee in Dover, DE. My uncle is the assistant pastor of the church that hosted the jubilee, so it was a great time of visiting family and making new friends. We spent mornings and evenings in meetings filled with powerful preaching and soul-stirring music. Then, there was the fellowship with people from all around the country. It was an exhausting week, but we had a great time and counted it a privilege to have been able to attend.

Coming Apart and Resting a While

Coming Apart and Resting a While

This will probably be one of the shortest updates I've ever written. Unfortunately, I don't have much to report. It's been another "interesting" month in our deputation journey, but it wasn't the vehicles giving us trouble this time. It was our bodies.

We began the month in West Virginia. I don't know if there are any theme parks in West Virginia, but after spending a few days navigating their roads, I don't think they need any. Hills, curves, and potholes. That sums it up. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time there. We enjoyed a quiet place to stay and various wildlife that joined us each morning. (Sorry, I didn't get any pictures of the deer. I couldn't get my phone ready in time before they ran off.). We had a great meeting and enjoyed some delightful fellowship. We even had some downtime to take a lovely hike at a nearby trail. It was a pleasant way to start the month.

You Can't Outgive God!

You Can't Outgive God!

It’s been nearly a month since my last update, and for that, I apologize. Though we were in South Carolina for the first half of May, things were a bit hectic.

On Saturday, the 8th, I had the privilege of speaking at a ladies’ meeting in Roebuck, SC. My mom was able to join me on this particular occasion, and we had a wonderful time. The meeting was full of laughter and tears, stories, songs, and testimonies. All in all, it was a blessed time with sisters in the Lord.

During the next week, both of our vehicles were in the shop. Windy (our motorhome) was having her rear end replaced, and the CRV we recently purchased (who we decided to name “Stormy) was having a new engine put in. Yes, amid all the other chaos, our “new” vehicle decided to start having fits. Praise the Lord, it was still under warranty, and the dealership covered all the repairs. It was a bit disheartening to find ourselves with no home and no vehicle for a few days, but our families were more than happy to help out.

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

As I type this update, we’re working our way home from a missions conference in Milton, FL. We’ve had a great stretch of meetings lately, and many of the churches have indicated they would like to take us on for support. If all of it comes through, we’ll be around (or maybe even over) 70% of our needed support, making our departure to Wales in October seem even more possible. We’re so excited to see what the Lord is doing.

We have been traveling in our motorhome though it is still in need of rear-end work. It’s scheduled to go back into the shop on Monday of next week, and hopefully, we can get the issues resolved this time. We were told it was safe to drive and that the trip wouldn’t create any further damage. All in all, it’s been a bit noisy, but we’ve not had any real issues, and for that, we praise the Lord!

The Battle Continues

The Battle Continues

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”

— Psalm 34:19

The above passage has become a favorite of mine lately. I’ve quoted it to myself more times than I can count. First off, it reminds me that the righteous are destined to face hard times. It’s a fact. There’s no escaping it. But beyond that, it assures me that no matter what I face, the Lord will deliver me. He will see us through any trial and every heartache. Honestly, I’ve needed that reminder this year.

At my last update, our new motorhome was in the shop due to a broken serpentine belt. Today, it’s in the shop again. In fact, it’s been in the shop for over a week now. The issue? We’re still not sure, but hopefully, we’ll know soon. But before I get too far into that, let me start where I left off last.
