It Came to Pass
I hope and pray each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and were able to share many laughs with friends and family as you counted your blessings. We have so much to be thankful for, and God has blessed us in so many ways. May the attitude of gratitude be ever-present in our hearts!
As we shift into the holiday season, our mission schedule is lightening considerably. Churches generally have so much going on between Thanksgiving and Christmas that it’s not a good time to have missionaries in to present their burdens, and we certainly get that. In a way, it’s a blessing for us to be able to spend some time in our home church during this season of celebration. In fact, we “visited” our church yesterday for the first time since June. It was really nice to be with our church family, and we’re looking forward to doing more of that throughout December.
We did have a meeting last Tuesday in Roebuck, SC, and we had a wonderful time there sharing our hearts and being encouraged. We also had a meeting on Sunday evening in Marietta, SC. This was a church we dropped in on several months ago, and they were kind enough to schedule us for a time to return for Jason to both present and preach. It’s a sweet little church, and we were blessed to be there.
This week is an exciting week for us in several ways. First off, it’s the last week to work on the house. Yes, the house is scheduled to go on the market on December 9th, so we have this week to put on all the finishing touches. We’re ecstatic to finally see not only the light at the end of the tunnel but the end of the tunnel itself. It’s been a long, hard journey with this house renovation, but the realtor assures us it has not been in vain and is confident we’ll get a good price. So, please continue to pray as we work into the next stage of this process.
Also, we’re headed out today to speak with a gentleman about purchasing a motorhome. He has a unit that fits everything we want and need and at a great price. Everything about it is perfect except he wants to sell it sooner rather than later, and we won’t have the funds until the house sells. We have a meeting with him this afternoon to discuss terms and see if we can come to some kind of agreement. Our prayer is that if this is the motorhome God wants us to have, He’ll work out all the details with no problem, and if not, He’ll close the door. It’s easy to get so wrapped up in what we want that we make a huge mistake, and we’re pleading with God to give us the wisdom we need to make the right decisions. We would greatly appreciate your prayers in this matter as well.
Even though we won’t be on the road as much this month, it still looks like we won’t have much spare time on our hands. Between the holiday rush and getting things settled with the house and potentially the motorhome, we’ll have plenty to keep us busy. It’s interesting to watch and see how God uses all the things in our lives to prepare us for things that are yet to come. As always, we stand amazed at His goodness and His love!
We love you, dear friends, and appreciate all you have done and continue to do for us. You have no idea how much your prayers and financial support mean to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
