Rest and Refreshment

As we head into the week of Thanksgiving, we find ourselves extremely grateful for the past couple of weeks. Beginning on the 13th of November, we attended the annual Macedonia World Baptist Missions conference in Statesville, TN. Wow! What an amazing time of food, fellowship, and worship. The singing was fantastic. The preaching was indescribable. And the spirit of both conviction and comfort was overwhelming. It was such a delight to reunite with other missionaries with whom we have crossed paths as well as meet several other families who are currently on deputation or furlough. It was such a wonderful time, and we left feeling renewed and refreshed.

From there, we headed to the little town of Burgaw, NC for our eighth missions conference in the past two months. Yes, eight conferences in two months, and that doesn’t include other services, but we’re so thankful the Lord worked out each of these meetings for us. The church in Burgaw showered us with love, gifts, and kindness. They made us feel so welcomed, and once again, offered us the chance to rest, relax, and even see some of the sights around town, including a Revolutionary War battleground. It was a sweet time of fellowship and worship, and we hated to see it end.

We’re “home” for the holidays and excited to be able to spend time in our home church in the month of December. Lord willing, we’ll spend the next two weeks finishing up the house, which is scheduled to go on the market on December 9th. Yes, we’re finally reaching the end of the “never-ending” home reno, and we’re so excited. Please continue to pray that God will bless our efforts and bring everything to fruition in His timing. Obviously, we would like to see a quick offer and closing, but more than that, we want God’s will. No good comes from rushing ahead of God, so we’re trying to be patient and wait on His perfect timing. But in all honesty, we’re looking forward to getting our new motorhome and once again having a space of our own. Still, we want to wait on God! (Yes, I’m repeating that for my own sake as well as yours.)

We want to wish each of you a blessed Thanksgiving. May you have a wonderful time this week surrounded by family and friends, and may you spend each and every day counting your many blessings!
